Asking the right questions
This research paper is a snapshot on strategic sustainability in creative businesses:
How are those operating in the creative industries, particularly in product design, working to respond to the ever-increasing demand for sustainable design? What strategic considerations are already in place and how do they feed into the design process?
Five successful companies were interviewed to get a better insight into what is currently happening in the field of strategic sustainability in the Swiss creative industries, with a focus on industrial design. The aim of this paper is to find out how these companies develop strategies and perspectives. It examines how they work, which paths they follow and how they proceed when it comes to sustainable product development.
